Welcome to our first student workshop of 2018!

We are excited to be kicking off project development for this new year and welcoming Mandana Seyfeddinipur, the Director at the Endangered Languages Documentation Programme and the Endangered Poetry Project, for a conversation around language and international development.

Come along if you are into language education in development, the role of linguistics in building and delivering cultural diplomacy and how language endangerment can reflect displacement and conflict.

In the meantime, you can read more about why communicating local languages matters (http://bit.ly/2qO3GWT) and how linguists can engage with development organisations with this six question model (http://bit.ly/2EurYMR).

We look forward to seeing you there!

‘Language endangerment is not a linguistics issue, it’s a political one.’ – Mandana Seyfeddinipur
